“I was thinking of the miserable apprehension we have of even those existences that matter most to us. To witness a life, even in love – even with a camera – was to witness a monstrous crime without noticing the particulars required for justice.” – Netherland Joseph O’ Neill

1:02 pm - And they will be the first to complain about the econeomy
http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,353756,00.html

The number one reason the country is screwed is these people will not be fired and blackballed. They should be made unemployable and then when they starve the food shortage and the employment problems would be solved.

Friends, I am participating in this year's St. Baldrick's day event. On St. Patrick's day in Columbia, SC I am shaving my head to raise money for children's cancer. If you feel led to donate, please visit the website for more details.

11:33 am - Slave to the meme
Give me the best song ever written and I will go give it a listen.
If it is magically already on my personal favorite songs of all time, you win a deep emotional bond with me that I may take a little too seriously and may result in a restraining order on your part...

but don't let that dissuade you.

1. Reply with your name and I'll respond with something random about you.
2. I'll tell you what song/movie reminds me of you.
3. I'll pick a flavor of jello to wrestle with you in.
4. I'll say something that only makes sense to you and me. (may not apply to all).
5. I'll tell you my first memory of you.
6. I'll tell you what animal you remind me of.
7. I'll ask you something that I've always wondered about you.
8. If I do this for you, you must post this on your journal. You MUST.

The show either jumped the shark so hard that Gary Marshall should sue for copyright infringement or is a work of absolute genius. I think it will take me all summer to decide.

In order to facilitate the move to a proper cultural norm, paper checks should no longer be usable by individuals for transactions. Businesses should be under a mandate to eliminate paper checks by the year 2010.

1:16 pm - I am making reservations for Stockholm as we speak.
Uni-Time

At well past the midpoint of the first decade of the twenty-first century, why are we still slaves to a system that not only was developed for an agrarian train based society but one that also did not work with out extensive correction even then.

Time Zones are a quaint 9th century idea whose time has passed. It is inefficient to base the concept of a working day around the movements of the sun. I propose that we move to a new system called Uni-Time. This would create a single time instance for the whole world. When it is 8AM in New York, it would be 8 AM in Los Angeles and Tokyo and Calcutta and everywhere.

No longer would you have to wait for some lazy west coaster to drag themselves into work or see an Olympic event time delayed because foreigners don’t understand economics. The base time should by all rights (military and economic be EST) but I am willing to accept any time as the basis for this system.

The plan is flawless and cannot properly be contested on its merits. For those who argue that it would minimalize their hours of sunlight, the solution is simple. Move to a zone when rec time is in the Sun.

12:59 pm - Pope meet irony, Irony meet the Pope
"We do not need a state which regulates and controls everything, but a state which, in accordance with the principle of subsidiarity, generously acknowledges and supports initiatives arising from the different social forces and combines spontaneity with closeness to those in need," he wrote.

Umm, ok. I am all for this. Does this mean you will actually acknowledge the need for adequete brith control in impovrished countries?

Have a nice day.
